Wow… did a lot happen on the Northwestern in a short segment?! Again, not much of our favourite Norwegian’s, but as with the Time Bandit… understandable when you find out why. So with no crabs in their pots, we leave the Time Bandit with Johnathan’s words “Not gonna let J.T down” – Let’s hope the boys can dial in soon!! ZERO CRAB! Bummer! Seriously, I get so annoyed for them, I feel the frustration… Anyway, so the Slime Banks suck!! They did however manage to catch an Octopus, and it really was a mean looking thing! Johnathan doesn’t like them… apparently… So… edge of the seat time – will there be crab or won’t there? (I think I worry more than the guys!!) Pot comes over the rail and… “J.T has set us up with good weather, we have him onboard here” I always get teary eyed as I watch the clips from Season 7 when Justin was talking to Scotty about his kids… it’s heartbreaking to know that shortly after that was filmed, he unfortunately passed away due to Sleep Apnea.Ī beautiful quote from Johnathan about the weather. We find out that the Time Bandit boys have Justin Tennison’s ashes onboard, planning to release them ‘on the crab’, wrapped in a Time Bandit flag- it’s what he would have wanted.
“I’ve found a job with my second family” But, family or no, it’s a business first… I sure hope everything works out for him! Everyone seems pretty happy to have him onboard, but I can’t help feeling he’s a little too laid back. He chose to spread his pots out, rather than group them together as he normally would do. Although he’s using a new strategy, or as Mike Rowe said – “Sort of”. So Johnathan has decided to hit up some tried and tested grounds – The Slime Banks. But, for reasons you will find out later… it’s actually understandable! However…
I have to say, I’m a little disappointed with the lack of Time Bandit in this episode. Therefore, this could be HIS last King Crab Season… I hope not, I like Wild Bill… However we hear Wild Bill saying that there’s a lot of talk about there being no King Crab Season for the next couple of years.

Unfortunately we saw zip of the Kodiak in this episode. Anything I write in these blog entries are purely MY personal opinion* Yes, I have my favourites, and perhaps those I’d rather not see so much of, but I will not hate on anyone.
Watching the Season premiere again, I realised how much I had actually missed writing down in my previous post, I wrote it from memory and I was excited!! So, like a complete Geek I made notes… look, don’t judge me… please! This post is probably going to be a long one, so if you don’t like Deadliest Catch all that much then don’t read on, you may get bored… however, if you’ve clicked the link for this… then you know the score!! (Hardcore fan who has a small case of insomnia!) I’ve decided to do a running commentary if you will of each episode, because I love it so damn much!! (Plus I was encouraged by a fellow DC fan & Twitter buddy) Deadliest Catch Tuesday!! The Season 8 premiere was aired in the UK (yes, I watched it… AGAIN!) and then Episode 2 was aired in the US… which I watched at 5am today. Well yesterday for me was a fantastic day.
